Tax

VAT at 15 per cent, GST split by stateworked out on every line and printed on every invoice.

Load the tax pack for Bangladesh or India and the classes, rates and rounding are set for you. Bazuva works out the tax on each line after its discount, shows it at checkout the way your prices are written, and prints it on a numbered tax invoice.

  • Bangladesh and India packs
  • Prices with or without tax
  • CGST, SGST or IGST
  • Tax invoice for every order

Tax set up the way the law reads

  • 15%

VAT in the Bangladesh pack, prices inclusive

  • 5

GST classes in the India pack, 0 to 28 per cent

  • 4

levels of rate, the most specific one wins

  • 2

ways to round: per line or per invoice

The difference

Tax is not hard to work out once. It is hard on every order, every day.

Without Bazuva

With Bazuva

  • VAT is worked out on a calculator at the end of the day, if at all.

Each line carries its own tax, worked out after its discount, the moment it is sold.

  • Prices include VAT on the shelf and leave it out online, and buyers argue at the door.

One setting says whether your prices include tax or add it on top, and checkout shows it that way.

  • An order to another Indian state is billed CGST and SGST because nobody checked.

Your registered state is compared with the buyer's, and CGST with SGST or IGST follows.

  • The invoice is typed in a word processor and rarely matches the order.

A tax invoice with your registration number is ready on every order, for you and the buyer.

Classes and rates

Rates by country, region and class. The most specific one wins.

Give products a tax class and write rates for a country, a region within it, or a class in either. A rate for one class in West Bengal beats a rate for India as a whole. Tax on delivery is charged or not, as you set, and loading a pack again never overwrites a rate you have edited.

  • A tax class named on each product variant
  • Rates for a country, a region or a class
  • Tax on delivery switched on or off
  • A class still in use cannot be deleted

India: CGST, SGST and IGST

Sell inside your state or across it, and GST splits itself.

Enter your GSTIN and your state once. An order delivered inside the same state carries CGST and SGST, half each; one sent to another state carries IGST. The India pack brings the five GST classes, rounds per invoice to the rupee and taxes delivery at the default rate.

  • Classes at 0, 5, 12, 18 and 28 per cent
  • The state read from the buyer's address
  • Rounding per invoice, the difference on the last line
  • GST rows kept on each order line

The tax invoice

A numbered tax invoice on every order, for you and the buyer.

Each order has a tax invoice as a PDF, numbered after the order, with your registration, every line's tax by name and rate, and the totals. Staff download it from the order and the buyer from their order page. Draft orders and order edits are taxed the same way, so the invoice after an edit matches what was charged.

  • Numbered INV- and the order's number
  • Your BIN, VAT or GST number printed
  • Tax on checkout, orders, drafts and edits
  • Kept as it was at the sale, whatever changes later

Questions about tax

Do my prices include VAT?

As you choose. The Bangladesh pack starts with prices that include VAT, the way shelf prices are written, and checkout says 'Includes VAT 15 %'. Switch to prices without tax and it is added as its own row.

Is tax worked out before or after a discount?

After. A coupon on the whole order is shared across the lines first, so each line is taxed on what the buyer actually pays for it.

Can I sell to India with GST?

Yes. Load the India pack, add your GSTIN and your state, and each order carries CGST and SGST inside your state or IGST across states.

Does the buyer get a tax invoice?

Yes. Every order has a tax invoice PDF the buyer can download from their order page, and staff from the order.
